Vietnam Veterans of America

Chapter 137 Dallas

Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 137 in Dallas, VVA137 for short, is the first and largest chapter in the State of Texas. We just celebrated our 30th anniversary in 2014 and we’re proud that over 85% of donations to our organization go directly to the vets we are trying to help.

Dear Brothers,

We are asking for your help in a situation where we need to come in support of one
of our own.  We have opened a Go-Fundme page in the name of Mrs. Hatfield, the widow
of a WWII veteran, who is struggling with the pitfalls of the administrative walkthrough, the likes of which we are all so familiar with, while her life is falling apart.

From the President

Fellow VVA137 members ...

While we watch another year fade into the next year, we are left with our memories of the previous year.

We are leaving a year of strife, sadness, illnesses, political divisiveness, and violence, but we also have had happiness and pleasures.  Many of us have had the happiness of a new grandchild and in some instances even great-grandchildren.
We all have lost Vietnam brothers and sisters; their names are inscribed on the long black granite wall to remind us of those who were here for such a short time.  We have also lost loved ones and we are entering a new year that holds unknown promises.  As in our time in Vietnam, we would pray for one more day and be thankful when that day ends, then we would ask for another day, we need to live one day at time and embrace our families and friends and thank GOD that we came home.

You can choose to only remember the bad times in the past year or remember the good times and then apply yourself to look for the good times ahead.

Please reach out to your fellow VVA Chapter 137 members if you have good news to share or difficult issues that could be lessened by being heard.  We are fewer in number, but you are not alone.
